Gathering in the height of summer, new employees embarked on a crucial first lesson in their careers in Huatai. On the afternoon of August 4, 2026, thanks to the meticulous preparations by the Human Resources Department, 19 new employees from leading domestic universities - including Dalian University of Technology, Northeastern University, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and Sun Yat-sen University - as well as relevant enterprises, gathered at the Anshan Design and Research Center, filled with ideals and enthusiasm, to officially kick off the 2026 New Employee Intensive Training Program at Huatai Yongchuang (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd.

At the kickoff meeting, the Human Resources Department led the new employees, mid-level managers, and internal training instructors in introducing themselves one by one, quickly breaking the ice and fostering their integration into the team. General Manager Han Dong delivered the first lecture centered on five expectations for their growth, setting the right starting point for their careers and offering words of encouragement that combined humanistic care with professional guidance. General Manager Han emphasized the following points: First, cultivate personal integrity and uphold the baseline of honesty. Prioritize sincerity in dealing with others and in all matters, strictly adhere to professional ethics, and hone a character marked by integrity and pragmatism. Second, improve your skills to solidify the foundation of your career. Delve deeply into your field, as strong professional competence is the cornerstone of achieving success. Third, pursue learning relentlessly and broaden the boundaries of your knowledge. Maintain regular reading and study habits to continuously enrich oneself and update one’s knowledge base. Fourth, be dedicated to one’s work and uphold a pragmatic work ethic. Focus on one’s assigned duties with diligence and dedication, approaching every task with a rigorous and responsible attitude. Fifth, maintain physical fitness and cultivate healthy habits. Follow a regular schedule and engage in consistent exercise to support long-term career development with good physical and mental well-being.

Kickoff Meeting of New Employee Orientation

During the training period, each department tailored a comprehensive and practical “development package” for new employees based on the current state of the coking industry, the specific nature of positions at the Design and Research Institute, and the responsibilities of functional departments, thereby establishing a complete training system encompassing “cultural awareness, rule learning and business familiarity.” The curriculum matrix covered topics such as the evolution of corporate culture, internal management regulations, full business process, and fundamentals of coking, addressing new employees’ knowledge gaps from multiple angles to accelerate their adaptation to job requirements.

Exchange sessions between new and veteran employees created an open and equal platform for dialogue. Drawing on their many years of experience in the coking industry, veteran employees shared foundational job knowledge and practical insights on cross-departmental collaboration, while candidly discussing the detours they’d taken in their careers and practical strategies for overcoming challenges. New employees set aside their reserve and spoke freely on topics of concern - such as personal career development paths, on-site work challenges, and avenues for technical improvement.

This exchange of ideas not only provided new hires with actionable workplace insights but also alleviated their unfamiliarity and anxiety that come with joining a new company, helping them quickly integrate into the Huatai family.

On August 7, new employees visited Anshan Shengmeng Coal Gasification Co., Ltd for on-site training, where they immersed themselves in observing the entire coking production process firsthand. The abstract technical terms from the training sessions and the process pipelines marked on drawings were transformed into the tangible production scenes before their eyes, truly bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. This experience helped new employees develop an initial holistic engineering perspective and deepen their intuitive understanding of the entire coking business chain.

To diversify the training forms for new employees and foster a deep sense of patriotism, the company organized tours of the Temple of Heaven and the Great Wall for all new employees on August 8 and 9. Standing amidst these millennia-old historical sites, the new employees experienced the charm of Chinese history and culture up close. Against a backdrop where natural landscapes and cultural heritage blend, they relaxed, interacted, and supported one another, building closer bonds and effectively strengthening their sense of belonging and team cohesion.

As the training program drew to a close, Chairman Xu Lie delivered the final session to the new employees. Drawing on current trends in the coking industry, Chairman Xu provided a systematic interpretation of the company’s medium- and long-term strategic plan and clearly outlined a blueprint for the company’s high-quality development. Linking the growth of young employees to the company’s mission, he shared three key expectations with them. First, they should embrace life and enrich their spiritual world. They should actively participate in cultural and sports activities that benefit both body and mind, cultivate a habit of regular exercise, and maintain a healthy physique and a positive, optimistic mindset. Second, they should cherish the collective and foster a big-picture mindset. Cultivate a sense of collective honor, recognize that personal development relies on the company’s platform, and work together in unity to build, share, and grow alongside the company. Third, love the motherland and uphold firm ideals and convictions. Stay rooted in the coking industry, fulfill duties in your respective positions, and actively contribute your professional expertise to the development of the nation’s energy sector. Chairman Xu pointed out that the company continued to build a broad platform and provide full support for the growth and development of young employees, constantly improving supporting mechanisms for talent cultivation, promotion, and incentives. He expressed his hope that all new employees will keep their original aspirations and mission firmly in mind, work in unison with the company, and strive forward hand in hand. He encouraged them to hone their skills and pursue their ideals in the coking industry, achieving a win-win outcome where their personal value and corporate development are both realized.

At the training wrap-up meeting, representatives of the new employees took turns sharing their reflections on the training. Their remarks were filled with a sense of accomplishment and personal growth, fully showcasing the new employees’ vibrant energy and enthusiasm for their work. The lively and interactive atmosphere served as clear evidence that the training had achieved solid results in helping new employees integrate into the corporate culture, clarify their career paths, and develop their professional skills.

Wrap-up Meeting

Onboarding training has fostered growth, and a new journey has already begun. We hope that all new employees will take this training as a starting point, keep the leadership’s guidance in mind, learn from the experience of their seniors, dedicate themselves to their respective roles with diligence, continue to strengthen their professional foundations, unite as a team to deepen their expertise in the coking industry, and join the company on a new journey toward long-term development.
