At 11:00 a.m. on October 25, 2021, with the strong support of all departments within Huatai, the 170 t/h CDQ (EPC) project of Wangzhuang Pig Iron Co., Ltd. at Jiaokou County was successfully commissioned. Wang Dongfeng, Director of Huatai’s Construction and Commissioning Department, was present at the site to oversee operations and participate in the commissioning ceremony, where he delivered an inspiring speech.

During the construction of this project, the mountainous terrain posed significant challenges. After receiving the geological survey results and conducting repeated analyses, Huatai adopted a slope support design for the CDQ unit that incorporated various methods, including pile walls, prestressed anchor cables, lattice beams, and shotcrete for the first time. Construction of the CDQ’s main structure foundation began at -23m, lowering the overall elevation of the main structure and boiler by 7.7m, fully leveraging the topographical features of the site, ensuring the stability of the foundation and reducing the hoisting distance, thereby providing a robust foundation for future production expansion. The coke quenching car tracks and hoisting bay are situated on a slope, utilizing a cantilevered frame structure that highlights the ingenuity and bold vision of the design team. Due to the rugged terrain and limited space of the project site, the air-cooling island was positioned at a junction, while the demineralized water station and ground station for dust removal were constructed over the underground gallery. The pipe heat exchanger and circulation fan are stacked vertically to maximize space utilization. From design to construction, these solutions embody the dedication, hard work, and ingenuity of Huatai team. Guided by a spirit of rigor, pragmatism, and a fearless approach to challenges, Huatai meticulously organized the design, efficiently allocated resources, and successfully completed the commissioning tasks.

This project also marks the second CDQ operation and maintenance project undertaken by Huatai. The signing of this O&M contract reflects Wangzhuang’s recognition of and confidence in Huatai’s technical capabilities and management practices. The commissioning of the project marks the beginning of our O&M services. Our company will continue to work closely with Wangzhuang company to reap mutual benefit and shared success!
