With the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival approaching, Chairman Xu Lie visited Tangshan Jingtang Port to extend his regards to the project team members on the front lines of the project despite the rain.

On September 20, 2021, Chairman Xu Lie, accompanied by Wang Dongfeng, Director of the Construction and Commissioning Department, visited the CDQ project sites of Tangshan Guotang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. and Tangshan Tianshun Coal & Coke Chemical Co., Ltd. for inspection and research, conveying the company’s care and regards to the project teams.

Chairman Xu Lie first visited the CDQ project office of Tangshan Guotang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. As soon as he got out of the car, he braved the rain and waded through puddles to reach the construction site where he issued important instructions regarding construction safety, quality, and progress. He emphasized that throughout the project’s construction, we must follow the principle of “safety first, quality foremost,” strictly adhere to the “red line” of workplace safety, strengthen the fulfillment of safety accountability, enhance quality awareness, and ensure that every project is built to the highest standards and can stand the test of the market and live up to the client’s trust. Chairman Xu Lie had a cordial exchange with Huang Hebin, Executive Deputy General Commander of Tangshan Guotang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., and others. Project Manager Yang Zhiwei provided an overview covering four key areas including design, procurement, bidding for construction teams, and construction progress, which ensures that the construction schedule for the CDQ meets the requirements for the coke oven’s commissioning. Chairman Xu Lie introduced the company’s core business to the client, noting that Huatai’s competitive edge stems from its large pool of scientific and technical personnel, whose innovative capabilities serve as the driving force behind the company’s development. Both the vertical heat-recovery coke oven and the smart CDQ represent cutting-edge technologies that are shaping the future of the coking industry. He specifically highlighted the vertical heat-recovery coke oven’s advantages in the coking sector regarding cost per ton of coke, environmental protection, and energy consumption. Huang Hebin expressed gratitude to Chairman Xu Lie for visiting Tangshan Guotang Company ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival and stated that Guotang had full confidence in Huatai’s CDQ project and held strong interest in the company’s new technologies and deeper bilateral cooperation in the future.

Following the meeting, Chairman Xu Lie had lunch with members of the Tangshan Guotang project team of Huatai and presented them with Mid-Autumn Festival greetings and gifts.

After lunch, Chairman Xu Lie immediately headed to the Tianshun Coking Project site for an inspection. From the early hours of the 19th to the morning of the 20th, Jingtang Port experienced its heaviest rainfall of the year, with water levels on the roads at the Tianshun Coking site exceeding 1 meter. Chairman Xu Lie waded through the water to reach the project site where he issued important instructions regarding the severe flooding at Transfer Station 102, requiring the project department to exhaust all means to pump out the water to ensure the safety of No. 2 and No. 3 proper. He emphasized that once the water was pumped out, construction progress must be accelerated, and backfilling must be completed as soon as possible after the transfer station was poured. Director Wang Dongfeng instructed the project team to conduct thorough monitoring of settlement and displacement of proper foundations to ensure they remain under control at all times. Project Manager Li Jinhai reported on the project’s progress, indicating that although construction at Transfer Station 102 was currently facing some difficulties, he remained confident that, under the company’s sound leadership, they would deliver solid results. Chairman Xu Lie and Tianshun General Manager Cui Zishuang held an on-site meeting to make specific arrangements regarding the water drainage and protection of the 102 Transfer Station foundation pit, as well as the project’s commissioning schedule. Tianshun General Manager Cui Zishuang expressed sincere gratitude to Chairman Xu Lie for braving the rain to visit the site and advance the project ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival. He expressed full confidence in Huatai’s CDQ project and believed that Huatai would deliver a high-quality project.
