On October 6, 2020, during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, a grand commissioning ceremony was held at the Phase III coking plant of Shandong Tiexiong Metallurgical Technology Co., Ltd. for the 1.5 MTPA coke dry quenching (CDQ) and waste heat power generation EPC project undertaken by Huatai Yongchuang (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. This marked another milestone in the close collaboration between Huatai Yongchuang and Zhongrong Xinda Group in addition to the previous two CDQ projects brought online at Shandong Tiexiong Xinsha Energy Co., Ltd.

Attendees at the ceremony included Zhao Dong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Zouping Municipal Party Committee and Executive Deputy Mayor (where the project is located); leaders from relevant municipal departments; all members of the Daixi Subdistrict leadership team; Wang Qianwei, Vice President of Zhongrong Xinda Group; Li Jinghua, Chairman of Tiexiong Metallurgical Technology; Yang Guojie, General Manager of Tiexiong Metallurgical Technology; Xu Lie, Chairman of Huatai Yongchuang; and Song Mingjiang, Deputy General Manager of Huatai Yongchuang. The ceremony was presided over by Zhen Yuke, Vice Chairman and Party Branch Secretary of Tiexiong Metallurgical Technology.

In January 2019, Shandong Tiexiong Metallurgical Technology Co., Ltd. signed an EPC contract for its CDQ system with Huatai, and construction of the blinding layer for the CDQ foundation began in June 2019. During the project’s construction, there were significant challenges posted by limited space, significant overlaps between construction on certain critical paths and ongoing production operations, and the requirement to ensure compliance of the project construction process with Tiexiong Metallurgical Technology’s high standards for on-site production management. Despite these challenges and the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, under the profound care and support of governments at all levels, with the close cooperation of the client, and through the joint efforts of all equipment suppliers and construction units involved in the project, our company overcame one obstacle after another through rigorous design, meticulous organization, rational allocation of resources and diligent work, to successfully complete the arduous task of getting the project ready for startup by the end of September 2020.
